The Tano North Municipal Office of the NCCE, with support from GIZ and the European Union, has engaged various youth groups in Duayaw Nkwanta on an anti-corruption sensitisation programme dubbed “Strengthening the Rule of Law and the Fight Against Corruption in Ghana.”
Facilitators highlighted the dangers of corruption and its manifestations, including bribery, nepotism, fraud, embezzlement, and conflict of interest. The Municipal Director of CHRAJ, Mr. Victor Osei, urged the youth to become agents of change by speaking out against corrupt practices and reporting cases for investigation and accountability. The District Police Commander, DSP Emmanuel Baba Anabila, also sensitised participants on the Public Order Act, encouraging them to exercise their rights to demonstrate within the law while balancing freedoms with civic responsibility to ensure peace and security in their communities.
The Municipal Director of NCCE, Mr. Joseph Oduro-Buabeng, expressed appreciation to GIZ and the European Union for supporting the campaign and called on the youth to be ambassadors of change by reporting corruption wherever it occurs. Participants were drawn from faith-based organisations, political parties, apprentices, tricycle operators, persons with disabilities, and the National Service Association. The session concluded with a call for continuous engagements to deepen awareness and sustain the fight against corruption in the municipality.
