CAMFED Association, an Alumni network of over 32,745 young women from CAMFED has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and a sum of 5,000 Ghana Cedis to support the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in its fight against COVID -19 in Ghana. The PPE includes 20 boxes of Liquid Soap, 12 Boxes of Hand Sanitizer, 15 packs of Paper Tissue, and 300 Pieces of Face Masks.
Presenting the items, Ms. Angela Menyah, the Regional Treasure of CAMFED Association, said the NCCE was chosen following the Commission’s recent interview with TV3 which highlighted the Commission’s challenges in carrying out its community sensitization effectively on the disease. CAMFED Association decided to support NCCE to help the staff of the Commission to protect themselves adequately during their public and civic education engagements.
Receiving the items, the Chairman of the NCCE, Ms. Josephine Nkrumah expressed her gratitude to the CAMFED Association for its support of the Commission. Ms. Nkrumah assured the Association that the support would facilitate the Commission’s public education in the fight against Covid-19.
She thanked the media for their support to the Commission and their effort to educate Ghanaians about the pandemic. She, therefore, called on other institutions to emulate this gesture to support the Commission in this battle.
