To grow into responsible and dutiful adults, national values such as peaceful coexistence, unity, and honesty must remain your watchwords and guiding principles. This is a statement that sprang out of an interaction with students of Power Brokers Academy in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region of Ghana.
Giving the keynote address during a ceremony to mark the African Union Day, the Director of the Ho Municipal Office of the Commission, Rev. Vincent Adzika, admonished the audience to exercise a high level of tolerance to the opinions of others. “Unity does not imply we think alike, but rather we are stronger together”, he added.
“Unity is the binding force that ensures that individuals with different cultural identities, from diverse backgrounds, and hold on to varying cultural beliefs, are able to live together in peace and harmony”, he emphasised.
The colourful durbar witnessed pupils showcase a variety of renditions in art performances, including poetry recitation, singing of the AU Anthem, modelling, dance performance, and presentations on the history of the AU.
