Planning for Tomorrow: NCCE Sensitises Duayaw Nkwanta Traders on SSNIT Self-Employed Scheme

The engagement was led by Mr. Datsomor Francis Mensah, with support from Mrs. Konlanbik Matilda. The exercise sought to educate participants on the benefits of social security contributions and encourage self-employed persons to take proactive steps towards securing their financial future.

During the engagement, participants were sensitized on the importance of contributing to SSNIT as a form of social protection and financial security, particularly in old age. The discussion also highlighted how social security can provide support to contributors and their families in the event of circumstances such as retirement or the death of a contributor.

The NCCE team further emphasized that social security is not only a personal financial decision but also forms part of citizens' broader civic and social responsibilities. Participants were therefore encouraged to take ownership of their future by understanding and accessing social protection opportunities available to them.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for traders and individuals to ask questions and seek clarification on the self-employed enrolment scheme and the importance of regular contributions.
