NCCE and CHRAJ Champion Gender Equality in Engaging Radio Dialogue at Goaso

A radio panel discussion on Hammers Radio in Goaso brought together representatives from the NCCE and CHRAJ to discuss women’s rights and gender equality in Ghana. The conversation highlighted the importance of ensuring women’s full participation in national development, with the panelists stressing that women’s rights are human rights guaranteed under the 1992 Constitution. The discussants referenced legal frameworks such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the Maputo Protocol while urging communities to challenge harmful cultural practices and gender stereotypes.

The speakers were Mr. Harris Quansah from the NCCE and CHRAJ officers, Mr. Michael Manu and Mr. Isaac Adjei. The panelists called for continued advocacy, education, and enforcement of gender-related laws to eliminate discrimination and promote inclusivity. They underscored the role of education in empowering girls to pursue leadership opportunities and contribute meaningfully to society. The interactive programme received positive feedback from listeners and reaffirmed the commitment of both institutions to advancing civic education, promoting gender equity, and protecting the rights of women and girls across the Ahafo Region.
