The Yendi Municipal Director of the NCCE, Mr. Osman Kassim, has urged students of Dagbon State Senior High School to embrace civic responsibilities and effective time management as essential tools for nation-building and personal growth.
The engagement forms part of the Commission’s continuous civic education efforts aimed at nurturing responsible and disciplined citizens among the youth.
Addressing the students, Mr. Kassim emphasized the importance of civic responsibility in strengthening Ghana’s democracy and promoting community development. He encouraged the students to be active citizens who contribute positively to national progress. Quoting former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, he said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
He further highlighted the importance of time management and stressed that it is a key ingredient for academic success and self-discipline. He reminded the students that every minute counts toward achieving their life goals, quoting Benjamin Franklin’s words: “Lost time is never found again.”
The engagement allowed the students to share their views on how civic responsibility and time management can shape their future and contribute to national development. The students expressed their appreciation to the NCCE for an insightful engagement.
Mr. Kassim further encouraged the students to be ambassadors of responsible citizenship in their schools and communities.
