The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Ga West Municipal Office, has organized civic education engagements for pupils of Little Light Academy and Sapeman M/A Basic School as part of activities marking the 2026 Citizenship Week Celebration.
The program, held on Wednesday, June 5, 2026, was conducted under the national theme, “Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility,” with the sub-theme, “Growing Up Digital: The Ghanaian Child Upholding the Constitution Online.”
The civic education sessions targeted Upper Primary and Junior High School pupils and focused on promoting responsible digital citizenship among young people.
Resource persons Mr. Joseph Madjoub and Madam Evelyn Aniakwa educated the pupils on the importance of upholding constitutional values while using digital platforms. They highlighted the dangers associated with misinformation, disinformation, cybercrime, digital fraud, and online abuse, explaining their negative impact on individuals and society.
The facilitators advised pupils to verify information before sharing it online, safeguard their personal information, and use social media responsibly. They also encouraged the students to report cases of online misconduct and serve as ambassadors of responsible digital behaviour within their schools and communities.
The program forms part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to deepen constitutional awareness and promote responsible citizenship among the youth in the digital age.
