As part of the 2025 Annual Constitution Week Celebration, the Yendi Municipal Office of the NCCE engaged chiefs of the Zohe and Sunson communities to promote civic responsibility and social cohesion. The engagement was held at the palaces of the two traditional leaders and focused on the role of traditional authorities in fostering democratic values, peace, and national development under the theme “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility.”
The NCCE acknowledged the pivotal role of chiefs as custodians of tradition and community leadership, encouraging them to use their platforms to promote active citizenship. The chiefs of Zohe and Sunson pledged their support and commitment to advance civic education in their communities. The broader Annual Constitution Week activities in Yendi also included sensitisation efforts targeting market women, GPRTU workers, churches, and community members.
