The Tema Metropolitan office of the NCCE, in collaboration with the Tema Metro Health Directorate, engaged members of the Women’s Fellowship of the Apostolic Church of Ghana (Rhema Assembly) on the importance of routine vaccination and child health services. Led by Madam Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu and Princessa Owusu-Biney of the NCCE, alongside Health Promotion Officer Madam Portia Ntsiful, the session aimed to tackle vaccine hesitancy and increase awareness, particularly among parents and caregivers of children under five years.
Madam Badu noted that vaccination rates in the Greater Accra Region have declined due to misinformation, hesitancy, and limited access. In response, the NCCE and Ghana Health Service initiated sensitisation campaigns targeting key groups. Madam Ntsiful provided an in-depth presentation covering the importance, safety, and availability of vaccines and emphasised the role of community leaders in promoting child healthcare. The session concluded with a call for participants to become advocates for immunisation in their communities.
