NCCE Yendi Strengthens Partnership with Municipal Assembly

The Yendi Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Osman Kassim, has paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Sugri Muniru, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders in the municipality.

The visit, held on 29th May 2026, formed part of the Commission’s strategy to deepen institutional partnerships and enhance the delivery of civic education programmes.

During the meeting, Mr. Kassim underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between the NCCE and the Yendi Municipal Assembly in promoting democratic governance, environmental responsibility, social cohesion, and peacebuilding. He also appealed for increased support for the Commission’s activities to enhance citizen participation in local development.

In response, Hon. Sugri Muniru commended the NCCE office in Yendi for its consistent efforts in delivering civic education across the municipality. He particularly praised the Commission’s impactful radio programmes and community engagement activities, which he said have significantly contributed to raising public awareness of civic rights and responsibilities.

The Municipal Chief Executive further assured the NCCE of the Assembly’s continued support and collaboration in implementing programmes that promote good governance, peace, and development.
