The Shai Osudoku District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has entreated students of Asebi D/A and Ayikuma R/C Schools to wake up to the call of civic responsibility as young aspiring leaders of the country.
In separate sessions, the students were advised to take their academic life seriously if they want to grow into responsible adults in the future. They were additionally admonished to imbibe the values of Discipline, Patriotism, Environmental Sustainability Consciousness, among others, which remain the core values of good citizenship.
The young ones were exposed to Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, which highlights the duties of a citizen, which include upholding and defending the Constitution, fostering national unity, cooperating with lawful agencies in the maintenance of law and order, and many other duties captured in the legal framework.
The engagements with the students of both schools is in line with the Commission’s observation of its annual flagship programme, the Constitution Week Celebration.
