The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has called on learners of Presbyterian and St. Peter's Junior High Schools in Sekondi to uphold honesty, integrity, and respect for the law as essential values for responsible citizenship.
The appeal was made by the Deputy Chairman of the NCCE in charge of General Services, Mr. Victor K. Brobbey, Esq., during an educational engagement held as part of the Commission's 2026 Annual Citizenship Week celebrations.
Addressing the learners, Mr. Brobbey stressed that cultivating honesty and integrity from an early age would help them grow into responsible and law-abiding citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to their families, communities, and the nation's development.
He further encouraged the pupils to demonstrate patriotism by respecting the laws of Ghana, exhibiting good character, and remaining committed to their studies. According to him, today's learners are the future leaders of the country, and the values they develop now will shape Ghana's future.
The engagement formed part of the NCCE's nationwide Citizenship Week campaign, which seeks to instill civic responsibility, constitutional values, and active citizenship among young people through school-based education and community outreach.
Also present at the program were the Western Regional Director of the NCCE, Mr. Andrews Ofori Larbi; the Deputy Regional Director, Mr. Lan Kwame Tugbenu; and the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Director, Mrs. Harriet Addeywood, who joined in reinforcing the Commission's message of responsible citizenship among the learners.
