NCCE Promotes Responsible Digital Citizenship Among Ada Technical Institute Students

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Ada East District Office, has organized a citizenship education program for students at Ada Technical Institute to promote responsible digital citizenship and encourage the positive use of technology.

The educational engagement formed part of the Commission's ongoing efforts to equip young people with the knowledge and values needed to navigate the digital space responsibly while fostering national cohesion.

During the program, facilitators educated the students on the responsible use of technology, the internet, and social media. They cautioned against the spread of misinformation, hate speech, cyberbullying, and other forms of online abuse, stressing that such practices have the potential to undermine peace, social harmony, and national unity.

Students were encouraged to use digital platforms as tools for learning, innovation, communication, and national development. The facilitators emphasized that responsible online conduct is an essential civic responsibility and urged participants to uphold ethical values whenever they engage in digital spaces.

The Commission also highlighted the importance of promoting peace, unity, tolerance, and patriotism, noting that every citizen has a role to play in building a cohesive and peaceful society. Students were encouraged to become ambassadors of responsible digital behavior by demonstrating respect, integrity, and accountability both online and offline.

The NCCE reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening civic awareness among the youth through continuous public education program aimed at promoting constitutional values, responsible citizenship, and peaceful coexistence in the digital age.
