NCCE Kpone Katamanso Educates Prodivine Mission School Students on Responsible Digital Citizenship

The Kpone Katamanso Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged students of Prodivine Mission School at Kpone as part of the 2026 Citizenship Week Celebration under the theme, *“Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age.” *

The educational program focused on challenges affecting young people in the digital space, including cyberbullying, misinformation, disinformation, and other internet-related vices. Students were sensitized on the importance of using digital platforms responsibly to help create a safe and respectful online environment.

Officials from the Commission emphasized that the 1992 Constitution of Ghana remains the supreme law of the country and serves as a guide for the conduct of all citizens, both offline and online. They explained that while the Constitution guarantees the rights and freedoms of individuals, it also places responsibilities on citizens to treat one another with dignity and respect.

Students were advised to verify information before sharing it online to ensure that content circulated on digital platforms is accurate, respectful, and not harmful to others. They were further cautioned against the use of insulting language, spreading false information, and engaging in any form of internet abuse.

The learners were also encouraged to adopt safe internet practices by protecting their personal information, avoiding the sharing of unverified content, and refraining from interacting with strangers online.

At the end of the engagement, the students pledged to verify information before posting online, respect others in the digital space, and safeguard their personal data.
