The Ga West Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education has engaged young people in Amasaman on responsible digital citizenship as part of activities marking the 2026 Citizenship Week Celebration.
Held on Sunday, 31st May 2026, the engagement was organised under the theme "Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility" and the sub-theme "Growing Up Digital: The Ghanaian Child Upholding the Constitution Online".
The programme sought to raise awareness about the dangers of misinformation, disinformation, cybercrime, digital fraud, and online abuse, while promoting responsible online behaviour among young people.
The facilitators, Mr Castro Kofi Appiah and Mr Prosper Missinou, urged participants to verify information before sharing it, respect the rights of others online, and use digital platforms responsibly. They emphasised that digital citizenship comes with both rights and responsibilities and encouraged the youth to become ambassadors of truth, respect, and accountability in the digital space.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to promoting constitutional values and fostering responsible digital behaviour among citizens, particularly the youth.
