As part of the 2026 Constitution Week Celebration, the Fanteakwa South District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education has taken members of its Civic Education Clubs on an educational tour to the Osino District Court to deepen their understanding of the 1992 Constitution and Ghana’s justice system.
The visit, which brought together pupils of Kwampaw Preparatory School, formed part of efforts to promote constitutional literacy, the rule of law, and active citizenship among young learners.
The District Magistrate, His Lordship, Ayariba Salifu Bugri, engaged the pupils on constitutionalism, urging them to uphold the Constitution and support the fight against corruption. He further allowed the pupils to observe live court proceedings, giving them first-hand exposure to the administration of justice.
The Court Registrar, Evelyn Dapaah, encouraged the pupils to be law-abiding citizens, noting that ignorance of the law is no excuse. Also present, Clarence Parker-Allotey, District Director of the Information Services Department, Fanteakwa South, urged the learners to serve as ambassadors of constitutional values within their schools and communities.
Leading the delegation, Kwadwo Adu-Asare, District Director of NCCE, Fanteakwa South, encouraged the pupils to uphold and defend the Constitution, especially in the digital age where misinformation poses growing challenges to democratic values.
The exercise forms part of NCCE’s nationwide activities marking 33 years of Ghana’s Fourth Republican Constitution, aimed at strengthening constitutional awareness and civic responsibility among the youth.
