NCCE ENGAGES MEMBERS OF THE CLUB OF BIMOBA TRIBE AT ADUM ON ADOLESCENT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH, GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWERMENT

In an interaction with club members of the tribe of Bimoba at Adum on Sunday, 7th June, 2026, Mr. Awal Iddrisu underscored the significance of equal access to education, employment, and healthcare opportunities for both boys and girls.

Speaking on Adolescent Reproductive Health, Gender Equality and Empowerment, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund Activities and Global Affairs Canada, Mr. Iddrisu explained that when girls and women are empowered, society becomes strong.

He further stated that since one cannot tell the future of a child by looking at his or her face, physical or present abilities, one should not discriminate among children, especially one’s children.

Instead, both boys and girls should be loved, empowered and cared for in equal measure.

He stressed that parents and guardians should engage young people in skills training like hairdressing, sewing, plumbing, among others, as it helps in financially empowering the youth and eradicating poverty.

The group agreed to invite Mr Iddrisu again, to enable the sixty members who were absent because of the rain to participate and benefit from the programme.
