NCCE Engages Hairdressers, Okada Riders, and GPRTU on Civic Responsibility in Akwapim South

As part of activities to mark the 2025 Annual Constitution Week Celebration, the Akwapim South Municipal Directorate of the NCCE engaged members of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association – Aburi branch. Addressing the group, Mr. Nana Osei Williams, Chief Field Officer at the NCCE Municipal office, emphasised the need for citizens to exhibit patriotism in every aspect of their lives and work. He highlighted the Constitution Week's theme, “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility”, stressing that national development hinges on the active involvement of every citizen.

Mr. Williams urged participants to uphold values of good citizenship by protecting the environment and refraining from harmful practices such as open defecation and indiscriminate littering. He noted that environmental degradation affects public health and the overall well-being of communities, and therefore, responsible behaviour is a civic duty.

In addition to the engagement with the beauticians, similar outreach activities were held with Okada Riders at Aburi and members of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) at Kitase. These sessions aimed to raise awareness about the importance of civic responsibility and promote national unity, peace, and adherence to constitutional values among various occupational groups.
