NCCE and Tano North Assembly Lead Interfaith Thanksgiving to Promote National Unity and Renewal

The NCCE, in collaboration with the Tano North Municipal Assembly, marked the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving with interfaith services held at the J.K. Ameyaw Memorial Temple of the Church of Pentecost and the Duayaw Nkwanta Central Mosque.

The theme for the celebration, “Reflect, Reset and Renew for National Prosperity,” guided both the Christian and Muslim gatherings. The events brought together the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Pius Opoku; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Eric Adomako; the Presiding Member, Hon. Michael Boakye Hustin; NCCE Director, Mr. Joseph Oduro-Buabeng; heads of departments, assembly members, and citizens from diverse faith backgrounds.

During the Christian service, Prophet Fred Antwi of the Church of Pentecost urged Christians to live peacefully, honor civic responsibilities like paying taxes, and contribute actively to national development.

At the mosque, Imam Yakubu Ibrahim called for unity and prayed for alternative livelihoods for the youth involved in illegal mining. Mr. Joseph Oduro-Buabeng explained the purpose of the National Day of Prayer as a civic call to spiritual reflection, national responsibility, and attitude change. Hon. Pius Opoku emphasized the role of faith and unity in Ghana’s progress. The joint observance by Christians and Muslims highlighted the peaceful religious coexistence in the municipality and reinforced the call for a collective recommitment to Ghana’s development.
