Environmental Protection is a Shared Responsibility – Builsa North NCCE

Residents of Builsa North Municipality in the Upper East Region of Ghana have been urged to take responsibility for the protection and preservation of the environment, rather than absolutely leaving it in the hands of authorities. This call follows the Commission's engagement with the masses in line with the celebration of the Constitution Week.

In addressing participants of the various identifiable groups under the theme, “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility”, officers of the Builsa North Directorate of NCCE highlighted that in as much as leaders have been voted into power to give the course of direction to the country, they, on their own, cannot see to the holistic change we anticipate without the cooperation and collaboration of the rest of the population.

Members of the community were thus advised to contribute their quota towards attaining the heights envisaged. As the theme for the 2025 edition suggests, the destiny of Ghana, like the river, lies within the purview of its citizens, and it is solely up to them to determine the direction they like for the country to take.

Identifiable groups engaged included students of Fistrad Vocational Institute, traders in the markets, artisans, cattle dealers, players of football teams, and many other groups within the Municipality.
