Atiwa West NCCE Engages Security Personnel on Constitutional Duties and National Values

As part of the 2025 Annual Constitution Week Celebration, the Atiwa West District office of the NCCE has sensitised officers of the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service on their civic rights and responsibilities. The engagement took place at the District Police Command under the theme “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility.”

District Director of the NCCE, Mr. Joseph Owusu Koranteng, led the session by highlighting the Commission's constitutional mandate and the relevance of celebrating Ghana’s return to constitutional rule. He explained the historical background of the 1992 Constitution and urged the officers to uphold values such as patriotism, integrity, hard work, unity, tolerance, and accountability. Mr. Koranteng reminded the officers that their duty to the nation must remain uncompromised, even when no one is watching.

Superintendent Harold Yamoah, the District Police Commander, added that as enforcers of the law, security officers are expected to understand and abide by laws that govern the nation at all times. He emphasised that when officers breach the law, it undermines public trust, making it crucial for them to lead by example in their service. The event was also attended by Mr. Mustapha Ankrah, Ms. Esther Sarpomaa Appiah and Ms. Ellen Ofosu, staff of the NCCE.
