The Asuogyaman District office of the NCCE, as part of its 2025 Annual Constitution Week Celebration, called on Ghanaian youth to renew their dedication to safeguarding the nation’s democracy by promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion. The Commission’s civic education team engaged okada riders, aboloo sellers, driver unions, butchers, and faith-based organisations under the theme “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility.” During an open-broadcast session at the Atimpoku roundabout, Mr. Joel Sam reminded citizens of their constitutional duty to uphold national unity and fulfill their tax obligations, while market women raised concerns about the lack of visible benefits from taxes and called for improved infrastructure as motivation.
In a separate engagement at the Old-Combine Mosque, youth leader Mr. Abdulai Mohammed cautioned the youth against resorting to violence. District Director Mr. Alexander Yiadom Boakye also added that democracy extends beyond voting, urging citizens to maintain peace, tolerance, and unity in daily life. The sensitisation drive also visited communities such as Ghanakpe, Senchi Junction, and Abume, with support from Mr. Francis Matey, Mr. Prosper Swanzy, and Ms. Emelda Amankwa, all staff of the district office.
