The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has observed its annual Constitution Week celebration at the Maranatha Presbyterian Church at Ashaiman, Lebanon Zone Three.
Madam Salvata Mawulom Koku, the Ashaiman Municipal Director of the NCCE, stated that the celebration was to educate citizens to understand that the development of the country was a collective responsibility.
Madam Koku noted that the theme for the celebration, “Ghana’s Future, Our Collective Responsibility”, tasked all citizens to contribute their quota to developing the country.
She said it was the responsibility of citizens to be patriotic, tolerant of each other’s views, and united while protecting the environment and property.
She said Ghanaians needed to put the country first in their actions to project it worldwide.
Madam Koku called on citizens, especially residents of Ashaiman, to unite and make Ghana a better place through their actions of patriotism in their communities.
She said, “This is the message we are bringing to the citizenry while celebrating the constitution, and we urge the people of Ashaiman to do their bits as citizens to develop the country.”
