VOTE FOR COMPETENT CANDIDATES WITH THE SPIRIT OF VOLUNTEERISM TO REPRESENT YOUR INTEREST AT THE ASSEMBLY

The NCCE Asutifi South District Office stepped up its public education campaign on the upcoming District Assembly and Unit Committee Elections by visiting four churches in the district capital – Hwidiem. The churches include the Aldersgate Methodist, the Church of Pentecost Central, Liberation Assemblies of God, and Wesley Methodist on Sunday, 17^th December 2023.

Ms. Georgina Agyeiwaa, the NCCE District Director for Asutifi South, explained the need for the people to participate fully in the upcoming District Level Elections to elect competent people who have the spirit of volunteerism and willingness to contribute to the development of their electoral areas and the Asutifi South District as a whole.

She advised the congregants that their voices can only be heard in the Assembly through their Assembly elected members therefore, they should do away with partisan politics and ethnic considerations, but rather come out in their numbers and vote for candidates who can establish frequent contact and cordial relationship with them and can present their problems in the electoral areas to the Assembly for redress.

She urged them to take the District Level Election very seriously and come to the polling stations with their voter’s ID cards and cast their votes on Tuesday 19^th December 2023 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm to increase voter turnout to elect candidates who can help their electoral areas to develop through the District Assembly.

Miss Agyeiwaa demonstrated to them how to vote for unit committee members when the ballot paper was issued to them for the election of five members for the various Electoral Areas.

The District Office was able to reach out to 607 congregants, made up of 199 males and 408 females.
