Consistent with the Commission’s nationwide observation of its flagship programme, the Constitution Week Celebration, staff of the Upper East Regional Office of NCCE have engaged officers of the Navrongo Command of the Ghana Prisons Service.
Guided by the theme, “Ghana’s Future, Our Collective Responsibility”, Head of Programmes at the Regional Office, Mr. Paul Kwame Ganvu, underscored the need for the officers to perform their duties with utmost diligence.
Mr. Ganvu called on the officers to ensure the prisons are serving as the correctional facilities they are meant to be. He noted that the prisoners are still citizens, irrespective of their current situation, and ought to be treated with dignity.
Officers who participated in the session expressed gratitude to the team from NCCE for the opportunity and insights shared with them, while calling for the frequency of such engagements.
Present at the session were members of staff of the Regional Office, including the Deputy Regional Director, Mr. Augustine Akugri.
