The Tano North Municipal Directorate of NCCE has organized pupils of Prince of Peace Academy for an educational trip to the Ghana National Ambulance Service, Duayaw Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipal.
The excursion was directed by the Programmes Officer, Mr. Datsomor Francis Mensah and accompanied by a National Service Personnel, Mr. Sarfo Douglas and a teacher from the school, Mr. Mohammed Mustapha.
The Municipal Commander, AEMT Kyei Okyere and his staff took the students through the processes involved in moving patients into the ambulance before taking them to the hospital and the first aid treatment the Ambulance Service personnel administers to the patient.
The facilitators differentiated between ambulance and hearse. They explained that ambulances are used to convey patients to hospitals whiles hearse is used to convey dead bodies from the mortuary to cemetery.
The commander thought the students to call toll free number 112 to reach the Ambulance Service in emergency situations. He further advised the students to avoid prank calls to save lives and also encourage them to learn hard to become responsible adults.
