Security Officers in the Upper West Region Benefit from NCCE’s Constitution Week Celebration

Officers of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ghana Immigration Service’s outfits in the Upper West Region are the next beneficiaries of NCCE’s Constitution Week Celebration, following an interactive session facilitated by the Regional Office of the Commission.

The distinct engagements were pivoted on the content of the 1992 Fourth (4th) Republican Constitution of Ghana, where officers were apprised of the provisions that enjoin security officers to uphold and defend the country at all times, without fear or favour.

As the men in charge of monitoring cargo movement in and out of the country, it is of the utmost essence that the customs officers deliver on their duties with a shine, devoid of any form of corrupt practices that could endanger our beloved nation and its citizens in the long term.

In a similar fashion, officers of the Ghana Immigration Service are expected to keep the integrity of our borders intact. They were thus entreated to see to it that individuals commute in and out of the country legitimately and appropriately while bringing to book those who fall foul of the law.

The Constitution Week Celebration is one of the flagship programmes of the Commission and has been observed since 2001. Its inception is aimed at giving a special projection to the 1992 Constitution as the supreme law of the land, and it must serve as the guiding principle for the citizens of the country.
