NCCE Educates Ghana Card Applicants on Drug Abuse, Cyberbullying and Gender-Based Violence

The Ga West Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged Ghana Card applicants in a civic education program aimed at promoting responsible citizenship and raising awareness on key social issues.

The engagement focused on drug abuse, cyberbullying and internet fraud, as well as gender-based violence. The program formed part of the Commission's continuous efforts to equip citizens with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and contribute positively to national development.

Mr. Castro Kofi Appiah, Civic Education Officer at the Ga West Municipal Office, served as the resource person for the program, with support from Mr. Prosper Missinou.

During the session, participants were educated on the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society. They were also sensitized to the dangers of cyberbullying and internet fraud and encouraged to use digital platforms responsibly while avoiding activities that could expose them to cybercrime.

The facilitators further highlighted the importance of preventing and reporting gender-based violence, stressing the need for everyone to respect the rights and dignity of others and to support efforts aimed at creating safe and peaceful communities.

The NCCE urged participants to uphold responsible behavior, exercise their civic responsibilities, and serve as ambassadors of positive change within their communities.

The program forms part of the Commission's mandate to educate citizens on their rights and responsibilities while promoting values that strengthen peaceful coexistence, good citizenship, and national development.
