PROTECTING AND SAFEGUARDING THE ENVIRONMENT IS A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY

We were honored to have Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah, the Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Operations, visit Accra Academy Senior High School on the occasion of World Environment Day.

During his inspiring visit, Mr. Akuamoah emphasized the crucial role of the in-school youth in safeguarding our environment through tree planting. By restoring our natural surroundings, we are protecting our very own lives.

"We are not merely planting seedlings today. We are here to educate and empower you on the importance of nurturing trees," he shared passionately. Mr. Akuamoah expressed concern about Ghana's recurring flooding during rainy seasons and urged all citizens to refrain from dumping rubbish in gutters.

In an effort to encourage responsible tree care, Mr. Akuamoah suggested implementing an award system for students who demonstrate exceptional dedication in nurturing trees. By doing so, we can inspire and motivate others to follow suit.

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Isaac Tweneboah, Assistant Headmaster Academic of Accra Academy Senior High School, has assured the NCCE of the school's commitment to fostering a tree-loving community among the students.

Let's take action together to protect and safeguard our environment!

Join us in this collective responsibility towards a sustainable future.
