Head of the Immigration Information Centre at the Bono Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service, Superintendent Francis Kofi Appau, has urged his colleagues to display a high sense of professionalism in the performance of their duties and avoid all forms of corrupt practices.
He made this statement during an interaction with the immigration officers as part of NCCE’s Constitution Week Celebration, an annual flagship programme observed across all districts in the country. This year’s edition is commemorated under the theme, “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility.”
Speaking on the theme, Superintendent Appau highlighted that building the present and the future of Ghana requires marshalling our strength of unity in diversity and shared commitment as individuals and collectively as citizens. He affirmed that Ghana is blessed with abundant natural resources, rich culture, and a vibrant population. However, to harness these blessings and translate them into real development, there must be unity of purpose and a sense of accountability.
Meanwhile, addressing the audience, Deputy Director of the Bono Regional Office of the Commission, Mr. Peter Gyasi, called on the immigration officers and Ghanaians in general to assist in securing for ourselves and posterity the blessings of liberty, equality of opportunity, and prosperity as prescribed by our guiding principles and philosophy as a nation.
“As citizens, we should do all that we can to bring to reality the objectives that we have set for ourselves as a nation, be it political, social, economic, cultural, educational, or international relations”, Mr. Gyasi emphasised, reiterating the need to protect and safeguard our environment for the present generation and the one yet unborn.
