NCCE Stakeholder Engagements with the Tema Traditional Council and the Office of the Metropolitan Chief Imam

The Tema Metropolitan Office of the NCCE, led by the Metropolitan Director, Ms. Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu, has held stakeholder engagements with the Tema Traditional Council and the Office of the Metropolitan Chief Imam. The visits formed part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with traditional and religious authorities in promoting civic awareness, patriotism, and community participation in governance.

At the Traditional Council, the team was warmly received by Nii Lartey Bu-Obo I, Chairman of the Tema Ogujaase, with Asafoatse Nii Gbemi serving as linguist. Ms. Badu reiterated the Commission’s commitment to deepening civic values. She also highlighted challenges such as limited logistics and low public participation in civic engagements. In response, Nii Lartey Bu-Obo I commended the work of the Metro Office and assured the Council’s support, particularly in mobilizing community members for civic education activities.

The delegation also engaged with Imam Adam Abubakar, the Metropolitan Chief Imam, together with leaders of the Ulama. Ms. Badu acknowledged the valuable partnership with the Imam’s office and emphasized ongoing collaborations with other stakeholders, including the Metropolitan Chief Executive and the Ghana News Agency. The Chief Imam lauded the NCCE’s dedication, pledged to encourage community participation in its programmes, and offered spiritual support through prayers for the success of the Commission’s work.
