NCCE Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Observes National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving

The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly commemorated Ghana’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving with a special Muslim prayer gathering held in front of the Sawla Community Centre. The NCCE, led by District Director Mr. Issahaku Losina, actively participated in the event. Mr. Losina delivered the Commission’s civic message, emphasizing the importance of the theme, “Reflect, Reset and Review for National Prosperity.” He encouraged citizens to reflect on their past actions, reset their mindset and behavior, and commit to building a stronger nation. His address was delivered in both English and Wali to ensure broader understanding among participants.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Sinkina Saaka, called on Muslims to pray for peace in the district, across Ghana, and in conflict-prone areas like Bawku. He also urged prayers for the President and his appointees. The event drew representatives of traditional authorities, including Bobijetowura Albert Iddisah and Bandoliwura John Kipo, as well as members of political party groups, local youth, and heads of departments, with officers of the Ghana Police Service present. The prayer session, led by the Sawla Chief Imam, Alhaji Ibrahim Shaibu, was marked by the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and concluded peacefully, reflecting the spirit of unity and thanksgiving envisioned by the national call.
