NCCE Participates in a Tree-Planting Exercise in the Sekyere Central District

As Ghana endeavours to return to its greener days, the Sekyere Central Directorate of the Commission has joined in the effort by participating in a tree-planting exercise that took place in the Municipality. The exercise was also in observance of World Environment Day.

Members of staff leveraged the opportunity to engage participants on the need to safeguard the environment, stressing the importance of planting more trees to replace the lost ones. It is worth noting that the green vegetations contribute to the regulation of the climate, thus, they ought to be protected for the sustenance of the ecosystem.

Similarly, staff of the office interacted with students of some schools within the jurisdiction, including Nsutaman Catholic SHS and Aframso SDA Basic School, reinforcing the message on ridding the environment of excessive generation of plastic waste. Students were advised to inculcate eco-friendly habits in the school and their various homes.

Sensitisation activities were guided by the theme for the 2025 edition of World Environment Day, “Beat Plastic Pollution”, which zeros in on exploring the strategies of reducing, reusing and recycling plastic materials towards the long-term goal of putting an end to plastic pollution.
