NCCE Ekumfi District Organises Constitution Quiz to Promote Civic Awareness Among Students

The Ekumfi District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organised an under-tree inter-house Constitution quiz competition for members of the Civic Education Clubs of Ekumfi-Dunkwa/Abonten D/A Basic Schools. The exercise was designed to deepen students’ knowledge of the 1992 Constitution, strengthen their understanding of civic rights and responsibilities, and promote patriotism and active citizenship.

Addressing the students, the Ekumfi District Director of the NCCE, Madam Cecilia Dam, encouraged them to become ambassadors for peace, the Constitution, and Ghana. She urged them to continually acquaint themselves with the provisions of the Constitution and remain committed to upholding and defending its principles.

The four-round competition featured House 1, House 2, House 3 and House 4, with questions drawn from the 1992 Constitution, current affairs and Ghana’s historical antecedents. House 1 emerged as the winner with 28.5 points, followed by House 2 with 26.5 points. House 3 placed third with 17.5 points, while House 4 finished fourth with 12.5 points. The participants demonstrated knowledge of several constitutional provisions, including Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 19.

A total of 115 students, comprising 50 males and 65 females, benefited from the programme held at the Ekumfi-Dunkwa/Abonten D/A School premises. The contest was facilitated by Mr. Felix Dogbe as Quiz Master and Mr. Dominic A. Addo as Score Master and Timekeeper. School authorities expressed appreciation to the NCCE for the initiative and commended the Ekumfi District Office for its sustained engagement with the school.
