NCCE Educates Tailors and Dressmakers on Tax Compliance in Assin Foso

The Assin Foso Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized an educational program for members of the Ghana Cooperative Tailors and Dressmakers Association in Assin Foso on the importance of tax compliance to national development.

The engagement sought to educate members of the Association on their civic responsibility to pay taxes and the need for citizens to contribute towards national development through honest declaration of income and payment of taxes.

Addressing participants during the program, Madam Adabiyatu Balali Iddrisu explained the importance of tax compliance and the negative effects of non-compliance on the growth and development of the country. She noted that taxes serve as a major source of revenue for the government to undertake developmental projects and provide essential services to citizens.

Madam Iddrisu stated that Article 41(g) of the 1992 Constitution places a responsibility on every citizen to declare their income honestly to the appropriate agencies and pay taxes accordingly. She therefore urged members of the Ghana Cooperative Tailors and Dressmakers Association to comply with their tax obligations and support national development efforts.

Participants at the program commended the NCCE for the education and described the engagement as timely and beneficial.
