NCCE East Gonja Engages Apostolic Church Congregants on Responsible Digital Citizenship

As part of activities marking the 2026 Constitution Week Celebration, the East Gonja Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education engaged members of The Apostolic Church Ghana at Kapito Community on responsible digital citizenship.

The engagement was held on Sunday, 31st May 2026, and focused on promoting the safe, ethical, and responsible use of digital platforms. It sought to deepen public awareness of citizens’ rights and responsibilities in the digital space, in line with the principles and values of the 1992 Constitution.

The educational session was facilitated by Mr. Mumuni Muzamilo, Assistant Civic Education Officer, and Madam Dawuda Zuleya, Chief Field Officer. They sensitised the congregants on the dangers of misinformation, disinformation, cybercrime, digital fraud, online abuse, and other harmful digital practices.

Participants were encouraged to critically assess information before sharing it on social media and other digital platforms. The facilitators urged them to verify content from credible sources and avoid spreading false or misleading information that could create fear, confusion, mistrust, or division in society.

The congregants were also advised to use digital platforms to promote peace, truth, respect, tolerance, and responsible citizenship. They were reminded that constitutional values must guide citizens’ conduct both online and offline.

The engagement formed part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to promote constitutional awareness, civic responsibility, and responsible online behaviour among citizens in the East Gonja Municipality.
