On day three of an Intergenerational Dialogue among national stakeholders and youth constituencies in Accra, Chairperson of NCCE, Ms. Kathleen Addy interacted with participants to receive first hand information on some of the recommendations made by the participants on youth involvement in national development.
One of the main objectives of the NCCE/UNESCO/Ghana Commission for UNESCO engagement with the youth is to give the Ghanaian youth the platform to suggest ways they can influence national policies for nation-building and participate in civic engagements.
Ms. Kathleen Addy, during her interaction with participants, acknowledged the critical role the youth play in nation-building and entreated them to position themselves to be agents for national development. She called on all to support initiatives that promote youth civic engagements and empower young people to be agents of change.
Ms. Addy mentioned some youth-centred programmes by the NCCE and emphasised that such civic programmes seek to empower and educate the youth for active civic participation.
NCCE played a lead facilitation role for the workshop with support from UNESCO/Ghana and the Ghana Commission for UNESCO
