At a recent capacity-building workshop for NCCE District Directors, Chairperson of the NCCE, Ms. Kathleen Addy, called on staff members of the Commission to lead the charge in the advocacy against Corruption and its related illicit acts.
Under the theme “Civic Engagements on the Rule of Law and the Fight Against Corruption,” the capacity enhancement programme aimed to empower civic educators from all sixteen regions nationwide with the requisite knowledge on Anti-Corruption, the Rule of Law and Whistleblowing to enhance their civic skills in sensitising the public.
Speaking at a workshop, which took place in Fumesua in the Ashanti Region, Ms. Addy encouraged staff to adequately utilise the knowledge imparted and the skills gained in their advocacy efforts against this canker, which has proven to be a hindrance to the growth and development of our beloved country, Ghana.
“You are expected to be trainer of trainers when you go back to your various districts, so your subordinates can tap into the wealth of knowledge you are taking along, to enable them to deliver when they step on the field to embark on public education activities”, she added.
The Chairperson also advised civic educators to incorporate drama, visuals, and pictorials to make their messages more impactful and memorable. She urged them to leverage some flagship programmes of the Commission in their public education efforts under this project to appeal to the different demographics.
The two-year project is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by GIZ.
