Chairman of the National Commission for Civic Education, Ms. Kathleen Addy, has paid a visit to the Civic Education Club in Kumasi Academy Senior High School, a suburb of the Asokore Mampong Municipal in the Ashanti Region. This follows her working tour at some of the Commission’s offices in the Region.
Ms. Addy, in her engagement with the Club, revealed that her visit was on the back of information reaching her office with regard to the vibrancy and phenomenality of members and other stakeholders of the Club, which she highly praised.
She further admonished the students to remain steadfast in their pursuits, avoid distractions, and utilise their youthful potential productively, underscoring the importance of discipline and purposeful engagement in shaping a prosperous future.
The Chairperson additionally commended successive patrons and leadership of the Club for the exemplary initiatives in advancing civic awareness and youth empowerment, and implored the members to sustain the spirit. She also called on school authorities to provide the necessary support system to facilitate the continuous thriving of the Club.
In recognition of their impactful work, she graciously made a cash donation and also presented some copies of the 1992 Constitution in support of the club’s activities, emphasising the essence of championing civic values and fostering community development.
Patron of the Civic Education Club in the School, Mr. Kofi Agyapong, expressed gratitude to the Chairperson of NCCE for the thoughtful gesture, and assured her of maximising the presents received towards the growth of the Club.
