The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited, has held a Civic Fest under its ongoing Climate Action Awareness Campaign at Nkurakan Presbyterian Church in the Eastern Region. The event was held on the theme “Protecting Our Environment: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”.

The activity featured a dazzling display of drama, spoken word recitations, and an exhibition of plastic waste creatively shaped into beautiful items. Dignitaries present, who also served as judges for the event, included the District Minister of Nkurakan, Rev. G. K. Anato-Ocansey, Chief Investigator of CHRAJ, George Benony Adzovie, and Civic Club Patron, Stanley Nugble. Participating schools were Wawase RC JHS, Nkurakan Presbyterian JHS, and Nkurakan RC JHS.

Speaking at the event, the Eastern Regional Director of the NCCE, Ophelia Ankrah, emphasised the importance of collective action in addressing climate issues. She stated, “Let us unite for a vital cause. Safeguarding the environment and making an impact on our future. In line with our constitutional duty, and the theme of this program, we must reduce, reuse, and recycle.”
