Kwahu East NCCE Educates Pepease D/A Basic School Pupils on Responsible Choices and Career Development

One wrong decision today can change the course of tomorrow. This was the key message delivered to students of Pepease D/A Basic School when the Kwahu East District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) joined the school’s Career Day celebration.

Held on the school’s premises, the programme brought together students and invited resource persons to broaden learners’ understanding of career opportunities while encouraging them to make responsible choices that would positively shape their future.

Representing the NCCE, the District Director, Ms. Roberta E. Koah, urged the students to remain focused on their education and develop positive values that would support their career aspirations. She cautioned them against behaviours that could undermine their future, including drug abuse, early sexual activity, indiscipline and other risky behaviours.

She further encouraged the students to understand that achieving their career goals requires discipline, responsible decision-making and a commitment to personal development. In addition, the students were reminded that responsible citizenship begins with the choices they make in their everyday lives.

Meanwhile, ASI Richard Agyare and AICO II Ruby Akwetey of the Ghana Immigration Service educated the students on the mandate and functions of the Service, the duties of immigration officers, as well as the qualifications and requirements for pursuing a career within the Service. Their presentation therefore provided the students with valuable insights into career opportunities in the security services.

The programme was highly interactive, as students actively participated in the discussions and asked questions about career choices and opportunities. As a result, the engagement broadened their understanding of different career paths and reinforced the importance of education, discipline and responsible citizenship in achieving their life goals.

Through such engagements, the NCCE continues to support young people with the knowledge and values needed to make informed decisions and contribute positively to national development.
