Four basic schools in Breman Brakwa have participated in a Constitution Quiz organised by the Breman Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education to test pupils’ knowledge of the 1992 Constitution, civic responsibilities, and current affairs.
The competition was held on Thursday, 14th May 2026, at the Brakwa Presbyterian Church. It brought together pupils, teachers, and other stakeholders for an exciting display of constitutional knowledge and civic awareness.
The event was sponsored by the District Chief Executive of the Breman Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District. The support contributed to the successful organisation of the quiz and encouraged healthy academic competition among the participating schools.
Speaking at the event, the officer in charge, Miss Nancy Oppon, stressed the importance of the initiative. She noted that the quiz was designed to help pupils develop a better understanding of the 1992 Constitution, promote civic education, and foster patriotism among young learners.
Miss Oppon explained that introducing children to constitutional issues at an early age helps them appreciate their rights, responsibilities, and role in Ghana’s democratic development. She encouraged the pupils to continue learning about the Constitution and to demonstrate good citizenship in their schools, homes, and communities.
At the end of the contest, Brakwa D/A emerged as the winner with 67 points and received a trophy, a certificate of participation, and a copy of the 1992 Constitution. Catholic Junior High School placed second with 48 points, while Presbyterian Junior High School came third with 45 points. Methodist Junior High School placed fourth with 31 points.
All participating schools were awarded certificates of participation and copies of the 1992 Constitution in recognition of their involvement in the competition.
The atmosphere was lively, with pupils, teachers, and supporters cheering the contestants throughout the contest. The event ended successfully, with a call on schools to continue supporting civic education activities that help young people develop an interest in constitutional democracy, patriotism, and responsible citizenship.
