Bawku West NCCE Re-Activates Civic Education Clubs with Youth Sensitisation Tour

As part of the 2025 Annual Citizenship Week celebration, and the reactivation of the Civic Education Clubs (CEC) drive, the Bawku West District office of the NCCE embarked on a sensitisation tour targeting pupils from Primary Four to Junior High School. The campaign focused on educating children on their civic responsibilities, national identity, and active citizenship under the theme “Ghana’s Future: The Role of the Ghanaian Child.” The programme was launched at Soogo JHS and grounded in Articles 28 and 41 of the 1992 Constitution, which outline the rights of children and the civic duties of all citizens, including the youth.

The District Director, Mr. Muniru Alengah, urged pupils to embrace key national values such as patriotism, discipline, tolerance, environmental responsibility, and unity. He encouraged them to respect elders, report wrongdoing, maintain clean environments at home and in the school, and work collectively to promote peace. The sensitisation exercise marked a renewed effort by the NCCE to instil civic consciousness in Ghana’s youth and foster responsible citizenship from an early age.
