Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly committed to Public Concerns

The Presiding Member of the Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Benjamin Anabilla, has affirmed the Municipality’s commitment to educating the public and addressing their concerns.

He made these remarks at the Annual African Vaccination and Child Health Promotion Week held on Thursday in Accra.

Mr. Anabilla stressed the importance of community involvement, urging residents to come to the office and make complaints and not wait for any forum.

“The Assembly is always open to receiving complaints and feedback from the public,” he assured attendees.

He commended the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) for its unwavering dedication to both child health and civic education.

He emphasized that the town hall meeting serves as an important reminder of the significant role communities play in achieving national health goals, particularly in protecting children through vaccination and ensuring access to essential services.

The Municipal Director of the NCCE, Madam Eunice Nkrumah, highlighted the indispensable role of community participation in health promotion.

She underscored that maternal health and routine vaccinations are not just health issues but fundamental pillars of national development.

“We must all take responsibility to ensure our children receive timely healthcare services,” she urged.

The Director of the National Identification Authority (NIA) in the Ayawaso Municipality, Mr. Seth Amponsah, commended the Assembly’s efforts in public education and informed the public about the Ghana Card, noting that while initial registration is free, fees apply for updates, replacements, or corrections.

He further cautioned against the use of fraudulent birth certificates, revealing that some individuals submit documents from non-existent hospitals.
