As part of the 2025 Constitution Week Celebration, the Ahafo Regional Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged officers at the Ahafo Regional Offices of the Ghana National Fire Service in Goaso, the Ghana Prisons Service in Duayaw Nkwanta, the Ghana Immigration Service in Bechem, and the Regional Ghana Police Training School in Kenyasi.
These engagements form part of the Commission’s nationwide efforts to promote civic awareness, deepen democratic values, and encourage active citizenship among the populace. At all locations, officials of the NCCE engaged participants on the importance of the 1992 Constitution, the need to uphold the rule of law, and the role of security services in safeguarding Ghana’s democratic strides.
Mr. Adu, in his address, emphasised the need for all Ghanaians, including security services officers, to play an active role in preserving Ghana’s peace, stability, and democratic governance. He also intimated that the Constitution Week Celebration is a reminder of the values spelt out in the 1992 Constitution and encouraged the officers to champion constitutionalism in their line of duty.
He further urged officers to remain non-partisan, support civic education, and collaborate with civil society organisations. At the end of each session, there was a renewed call for all security personnel to remain steadfast in the preservation of national unity and constitutional order.
Meanwhile, officers of the various security outfits expressed appreciation to the Commission for the good message. They also pledged their continued support in promoting civic responsibility and national unity.
Leading the delegation was the Ahafo Regional Director, Mr. Eric Adu (Esq.), accompanied by the Regional Accountant, Mr. Eric Anyormi, and the Head of Programmes at the Ahafo Regional Office, Mr. Atta Kofi Yeboah.
