Yendi NCCE Civic Education Club Visits Ghana National Fire Service

The Yendi Municipal Directorate of the NCCE has organised an educational tour to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) station for students and teachers of the St. Vincent College of Education Civic Education Club. The visit formed part of the club’s learning activities aimed at deepening students’ understanding of state institutions and their contributions to national development.

At the fire station, AD1 Mr. Baba Yussif, Officer in Charge of Operations, and AD1 Mr. Stephen Atta, Officer in Charge of Public Relations, briefed the team on the mandate of the GNFS, its operational procedures during fire outbreaks, fire safety practices, and the inspection of firefighting equipment.

The NCCE Yendi Municipal Director, Mr. Osman Kassim, explained that the visit was designed to familiarise students with the functions and operations of the GNFS, thereby strengthening their sense of civic responsibility. He noted that the experience would encourage the club members to champion fire disaster prevention and emergency preparedness in their communities.

Mr. Kassim expressed gratitude to the GNFS Commander and personnel for their hospitality and engagement, as the visit brought together seventy-five club members, their patron, Mrs. Assibiga Esther, and five lecturers from St. Vincent College of Education.
