Chairperson of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), Kathleen Addy, says the commission expects a successful election this year.
She says they also expect an election without casualties.
“We are looking forward to a successful election. We are looking forward to an election without bloodshed,” Madam Addy said.
“We are looking forward to an election where no one has to die for someone to come to power,” she said in an interview with TV3’s Kemmini Amanor on the Hot Issues on Sunday, September 15.
She added, “Ghana has great mechanisms to ensure we have a peaceful election. This year, our worry should rather be on external threats to our democracy due to activities of violent extremists.”
