SSNIT sits with NCCE to deepen ties

“The role of NCCE in directing civic education in the country cannot be underestimated.” These are the words of Mr. Lord Koramoa, the Public Affairs Manager at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT). He made this statement when SSNIT called on the National Commission for Civic Education as part of state institutions relations.

The delegation from the State Pensions Administrator, indicating the motive for their visit, noted that they are aware of the crucial role each stakeholder plays in running the pension funds. In light of this, they are making a conscious effort to acquaint themselves with these important bodies to further enhance their relationships with them, while taking the opportunity to address some concerns they may have with respect to the management of their pension funds.

Mr. Koramoa additionally expressed interest in collaborating with the Commission, pointing out how they can leverage the heavily decentralised structure of NCCE to advance their course in ensuring that Ghanaians in every corner of the country hear about the need to join SSNIT’s insurance scheme.

On the side of NCCE, the Chairperson, Ms. Kathleen Addy, in response, remarked that the Commission is always excited to join forces with other state institutions towards a certain course. She thus welcomed the collaboration and assured SSNIT of the maximum cooperation of the Commission. “Our staff are very specialised in public education and are always willing to take up any charge that would inure to the benefit of the citizens and the country at large”, she opined.

SSNIT was received by a high-powered delegation from the NCCE, including the Chairperson, Ms. Kathleen Addy, her two deputies, Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah and Mr. Victor Brobbey, as well as the Commission Secretary, Mrs. Lucille Hewlett Annan, and other senior management members.
