The Effutu Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Central Region, as part of this year’s Citizenship Week Celebration, has engaged pupils at the Uncle Rich JHS. The Municipal Director, Joseph Abban attributed the country’s continued peace and democratic stability to civic education efforts by the NCCE over the years.
The objective of the celebration is to reinforce civic values and re-orient the attitudes of Ghanaian youth towards playing positive roles in our democratic journey, especially sustaining it.
Speaking on the theme “30 Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy and Building National Cohesion: The Role of the Ghanaian Child. Mr. Charles Baah Aboagye, Municipal Director, Information Services Department (ISD), charged the pupils to be disciplined and embrace Ghanaian values such as hard work, respect, responsibility, religious and political tolerance, truthfulness, patriotism, nationalism and make these values their guiding principles.
