Mr. Gordon Yeboah Opoku, District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has emphasized the need to invest in the future of Ghana’s youth.
Speaking at a stakeholder engagement to promote adolescent health, gender equality, and youth empowerment in communities within the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Opoku underscored the importance of promoting gender equality and adolescent empowerment.
He urged parents not to withhold vital information from their children, cautioning that lack of proper guidance could lead them to seek answers from unreliable sources such as social media and artificial intelligence.
Health facilitators, Mr. Davis Kyei Danso and Mr. Aboagye, also shared practical strategies for empowering young people - including setting healthy boundaries, involving adolescents in decision-making, and linking them to community support systems.
A UNFPA-led initiative organized by the NCCE.
